Someone turns the big 5!

My dear Mike(al) … my eldest boy! You’ve grown up so fast over the years and truly Mommy sometimes couldn’t catchup with your non-stop questions of this that. Look tough but all softy inside… hehe Well, please know I only want the very best for you my son in this dunia and Hereafter Amin.

Mike and Mia, love hate relationship but BFF at heart!

New Year,New Beginning

A new journey for my eldest, Mia Aisha – off to Primary school in year one and my three year old-ish Mike to kindergarten. We have no problem sending Mike on his first day. He was practically teacher’s favourite since her sister’s days there. I was more anxious for Mia on her first day in school, it felt surreal just to see her in the dark blue pinafore with white shoes and tie (was told to be worn on first day of school). Hard to believe she’s all grown up for big school. Finally I myself has become a school-going mommy! Hah a new adventure for this mommy alright 🙂  There’s nothing more than a mother  wants the best for her children and I pray she’ll do well in school and make friends for life there.

We picked Mike up after his school and brought him to Kakak Mia’s school. He was thrill to see her sister! even willing to share his drinks…well, just for a minute! haha ..

Our latest M series

Yes, Hello World! Presenting my baby boy – Muhammad Mukhriz born on August 22nd, 2012 – Wednesday, on our fourth day of Hari Raya  (eid dul fitri). Great timing honey!! Well, technically he was supposed to be our September baby (just like his sister and brother) but my guess Allah has better plan for him (and me) .

Basically he was 3 week(ish) early from his edd, due to that he weights only 2 kilos and was put in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). In fact as I am writing this entry, he is still here in NICU for observation – his weight ; it goes down to 1.8kg two days after his birth and then his jaundice went up and down,and then back up. So far, nothing too serious but of course we pray everyday for his well being. Alhamdulillah, to date he weights 1.95kg and his jaundice level has gone down tremendously. Syukur alhamdulillah.

As to the cause of this preterm birth, I had mild bleeding two weeks leading to his birth and it appears I had contraction every ten minutes.  I was admitted for couple of day as advised by my gynae, until he feels its safe for me to go back home and rest. However, the contraction came back on the night of third day Raya. I kinda knew what it is but as we were back at Kuantan (husband’s hometown) I tried to brush it off and try to stay calm. Of course that night I could not sleep well. I was restless the whole night. The next morning, I felt uncomfortable and turns out my undergarment was covered with fresh blood. We quickly head back to Kuala Lumpur (thankful traffic was not heavy) and we safely arrived at the hospital and the rest is history.

Kakak Mia was overjoyed to see her baby brother. She kept saying, is that him mommy? Can I hold him pleaseeeee?!! O yes we caught that on video. Should be fun to watch it over and over again heh.

Another brother for me to boss around HAHA.

Mike was happy too.

Well, on his own way. After awhile he forgot about his baby brother and kept himself busy with the Ipad.

And just for fun sake, my babies!!!! Hoh boy, I’m officially mommy to THREE kids!

Before I go, I just wanted to say thank you to friends and families who came by to visit us. Thank you so much for your thoughtful, supportive and lovely gifts. And to my dear husband, you’re my rock! Thank you for taking care our kids while I tend to our Mukhriz.

Mike's babyhood pictures

This is quite an effort to for me to put this up! *wipe sweats*.Excuse the quality of the photos, as most of it was taken via my trusty e71 (you’ve serve me well dude!).

Ah yes my son! Look how much you’ve grown! Slow down will ya. As of now, he is officially a walker, active + adventurous (whats new w boys la kan?!), friendly, happy eater, very determine – in othr word can be stubborn at times and cheeky fella. Has a thing with Buzz Lightyear and would shriek at the sight of him, be it on tv,books or any other media. His favorite play mate is still his big sister – adore her but mostly love to annoyed her more (typical brotherly love). oh and his first body part he recognizes first is………ketiak!(armpits) Thanks to his Oma for teaching that!

The first thing people would comment about his feature is how alike he looks like his father and secondly his unruly curly hair! Never fail to impress people with that LOL.

You’re full of surprises and quite a handful to handle, but never had I imagine my life without you and your sister as that makes my life colorful.

Love you curly boy!

Celebrate the Boy!

Two of my faves crafter blogs  Made By Rae and MADE are hosting a great sewing theme this entire February – inspiration in making cool stuff specially for boys! How awesome is that! Of late I’ve been sorta sewing more boyish stuff too – among ’em are the drawstring bag, the chalkmat (ok so its the robo fabric that makes it more boyish hehe). Anyhow, timing couldn’t be better. I’ve been meaning to sew something wearable for young Mike as well. Here a snippet from what to expect this entire month from the two Made-Maids:-

TONS of Boy tutorials* Boy clothing ideas
* TWELVE guest bloggers! (this part REALLY excites me)
* Boy crafts
* Boy bags
* Baby Boy stuff
* Boy giveaways
* Boy design tips

It’s four days into February and the tutorial are making me jiggy with it lol. More of “Celebrate the boy” in flickr

As for myself, as a start, I sew a very simple pants for Mike (just like what I used to sew for Mia). I first started rummaging my overflowing scrapbins late last night, lo and behold I found hubster’s old boxer.Hurrah! I remembered stashing it for reason- upcycling it. Hours later, and this is what I came up with.

Am getting the hang of making this pant. I shall start making more 🙂 .
